Privacy Practices

As a privacy-conscious, community-formed project, MASQ, (“we”, “us”, “our” or “MASQ”) provides transparent information for users and visitors on it’s website and public documentation.

We’ll NEVER sell or share data from users (each, a “User”) data with anyone, period.

This privacy policy applies to the Website and all products and services offered by MASQ.

MASQ Network (“protocol”) is a networking protocol that is open source and permissionless, allowing users to participate in the decentralized network routing and encryption services between other users across the world.

MASQ by default does not store information from any users, nor do we keep any logs of visitors to websites hosted by MASQ.

MASQ does not require account sign-ups or any Personal Identifiable Information (PII) to use the software networking protocol (”MASQ Core”, “Node”, “MASQ Browser”, “MASQ Extension”), therefore we are unable to share this information.

User Data Collection

MASQ does not collect, log, or share user data that transits through the MASQ Network, ever - it is fully encrypted from the origin (client/user) and therefore is also impossible to access.

IP Address: No - MASQ does not collect the IP addresses of users.

Cookies: No - users can verify no cookies are used on MASQ websites using tools like Cookieserve

Privacy-Preserving Analytics - in the mission to preserve user privacy, MASQ utilizes services from Plausible which can provide helpful traffic analytics in a way that does not collect any personal data, cookies or personally identifiable information (PII). Discover how this is designed here.

MASQ Network’s Github is open and software users can verify any information needed regarding MASQ Core - the mesh networking transport protocol designed to route encrypted traffic between peers.

MASQ Core will always be open source and transparent, and is licensed under GPLv3:
